SUSPICIOUS
MINDS
Marlena and John have arrived at the courtroom for Stefano's appeal, and
Marlena voices her suspicions. Stefano was caught to easily, she
mutters as John squints turning his head to the side. Stefano would
never let himself be caught so easily. I think he's got something up
his sleeve.
He probably
has, agrees John. But I have something up my sleeve too. I
have been given permission by the District Attorney to use my "Go
anywhere do anything" badge and make a deal with DiMera. We'll
see how it goes.
 As
Kristen walks into the courtroom, Jennifer's viperous stare unnerves
her. Kristen is keen to tell the truth about Peter, but how can she
and risk Stefano's wrath?
CAR SMASH -
THE AFTERMATH
Mike is first to awaken after the dust settles and finding his injuries
superficial, he looks over anxiously to Carrie. Carrie, with the
telltale red mark on on her cheek is unconscious, and Mike seeing fire,
knows they must escape the car. But where?
Personally,
I'd say there's an abandoned holiday cabin just feet from where they
are. I'd even bet on it.
DECISIONS
Ausdumb's
reconsidered. It was unfair for him to ask his mother to make a
decision for him. He has to make his own decisions. It's time
for him to be a man not a mouse. He's going to ask Scami to move
back in with him. He's obviously lost Carrie to Mike, and this is
what is right and proper.
RUNNING
REPAIRS
Just as I
suspected. An abandoned cabin just a few feet away, cold but out of
the punishing weather. With Carrie unconscious, Mike needs to put
all his doctoring skills to use. First thing to do is try to start a
fire. Oh, and better get Carrie out of all her wet clothes
too. Perhaps if Mike shows a bit of bare chest, Carrie might waken?
STEFANO'S
PLAN
Kristen's sidled up to Stefano. She's going to save what little
respect she has left and admit that Peter's still alive. Stefano suggests
that she should do exactly what he says. After all, he has a plan,
and if she wants to get John back, she should stick to it by the letter.
CLUB
FORTUNA
It's the next day and Bozo's back at Club Fortuna sipping cappuccino as he
scours the 6 square foot room, in the hope that he may find Billieboob.
JACK'S
APPEAL
 Stefano
stares expressionless as he listens to the flimsy evidence proffered by
the string of Salemites.
 There's
Abe attesting to the precious little he knows about Peter's Blake's death.
Then Marlena speaks of hearing Kristen talk about Daniel Scott being in
Peter's coffin, and how Kristen arranged to have the coffin exhumed and
the body cremated before anyone could run tests.
 Then
Loopy Laura speaks of her laser lobotomy, and of seeing Peter Blake alive
with her own eyes.
 Finally
John flashes his new badge. He has a deal to make. The DA has
offered Stefano the opportunity to come clean on the whereabouts of Peter
Blake in return for several charges to be dropped. Stefano would be
a free man in about 10 years. Quite a few charges short of a life
sentence.
 Stefano
takes no time to consider. I wish my son was alive, he spits.
But he is dead! Dead! thanks to Jack Devereaux!
As the Salemites gasp in utter amazement that a fine upstanding man like
Stefano DiMera should lie in court, the Judge looks sternly at
Kristen. Ms DiMera the judge tones, is this true? Tell the court the
truth. Do you concur with your father Stefano DiMera that Peter
Blake your brother, is indeed dead?
As all hold
their breath, Kristen looks down. Yes, she nods. Yes, my
brother Peter is dead.
The judge has
heard enough. Sorry not enough evidence for an appeal.
Original murder sentence stands. Jack must return to prison.
BODY HEAT
Seeing Carrie shivering, Mike takes off his wet shirt, lying close
by. I won't let anything happen to you Carrie, he says. I love
you.
COMMISERATIONS
Jennifer is miserable, as indeed are all Salemites. I'm sorry Jack,
Mickey frowns as if it were the first time a client of his got a life
sentence.
Making her way
over to Kristen, Jennifer leans over her former friend. I hate you!
Jennifer growls as Kristen looks stricken. You have taken my child's
father, and taken my husband. I hate you.
Hate you.
JUST ONE
MORE
Back in Club Fortuna's ladies room, Billieboob smiles at her reflection in
the mirror. This is the very last time I'm taking drugs, she
promises herself for the umpteenth time. Tomorrow I'll be drug free.
KRISTEN
& STEFANO
 Kristen
sidles up to Stefano. I've had it! she whines. I wish you'd
come up with a plan because everyone now hates me! I'll never get
John back now and if Roman dies soon without a cure, that's the end of
everything!
Turning, Stefano leans forward. Who says there's no cure for Roman?
he smirks.
MIKE &
CARRIE
 Mike's
worried. Carrie is burning up. He settles down beside
her. I'll go out as soon as the storm has passed to get help, he
promises. I won't let you down Carrie.
